Project Overview

STARLAP (Shahid Tanvin Aerospace and Rocket Launching Project) is the flagship rocketry program of the Andromeda Space & Robotics Research Organization (ASRRO) at Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET).

As CUET's first student-led rocket research and development initiative, STARLAP provides hands-on experience in rocket design, propulsion, avionics, manufacturing, testing, and launch operations.

The project's first sounding rocket, Genesis-I, features a custom-built solid propulsion system, integrated avionics, telemetry, and onboard sensor payloads. Through continuous research and iterative development, STARLAP aims to advance indigenous aerospace technology and prepare the next generation of aerospace engineers.

Objectives

  • Design, develop, and launch sounding rockets capable of reaching higher altitudes.
  • Develop safe and efficient solid and hybrid rocket propulsion systems.
  • Integrate telemetry, GPS, and onboard sensor payloads for real-time flight data.
  • Foster student-led aerospace research, innovation, and practical engineering experience.
